Noracoon Eastern Star

Born the 14th September 2003

This is Kylie at just over 4wks old, with her Mum, Noracoon Atalanta.

Noracoon Eastern Star is better know to us as Kylie, She was known as Whispa but she does not do any of the sort when she wants our attention.. She is a Silver Tabby and White bred by our friend Phillipa Holmes. Her mother Noracoon Atalanta is a wonderful Silver Tortie Shaded and White and her handsome father is Dajania's Black Americoon (of Noracoon) Imp, he is a very impressive Black boy. Kylie pedigree name comes from a Tulip, the Eastern Star.

Kylie is our first Mainecoon and is also going to be hopefully our breeding queen as well as go out on the bench every now and then. Unlike Tonkinese, Maine Coons get lighter in colour as they get older, so even though Kylie was born Black she will eventually be a lot lighter. Watch this page for pictures of her growing up.

On the 15th December 2003 Kylie came to join the household. We had a lovely trip home and she slept most of the way. Simba was very taken with her from the first glance and spent the hole night following her. She is very lade back and self confident. Saffie is just Saffie, she loves kittens and even though Kylie has sworn at her she took it in her natural stride. Saffie is going to be a great help to her when she has her kittens I'm sure.

This is Kylie on her second day with us. She is now just 13wks old. As I am adding these pictures to her page she is asleep downstairs, with her on Simba. However at the time of these pictures she was having fun playing and investigating our ornaments.

Kylie is such an outgoing girl and not afraid to answer back when one of the others has a grumble at her. Saffie as always has been such a relaxed girl with her and started to wash her last night.

Simba and Kylie playing, Kylie is just coming up to 14wks old

It's a shame I did not have the camera with me when she was ice-skating on the kitchen floor.

Kylie is now just 17wks old and hasn't she grown. She is so outgoing and into everything. Also Kylie can now just about get onto the work tops, mind you this is by climbing up the washing machine. When we first saw Kylie it seemed to me that Maine Coons developed slower than Tonkinese, and this may be true in some ways but in other ways they are more advanced. The best thing is that Tonks and MC's do make a wonderful combination. They complement each other with the long sleek coats of the large MC's to the short silky coats of the Tonks. Both breeds are very outgoing and very loving it's just a wonderful combination.

The 6th March was Kylie's first show. I was so proud of her. She was a bit scared to start off with but settled down wonderfully. From now on though I am going to bath her once a month to get her used to it.

Kylie @ 7 months old

Kylie is growing so fast even we notice it some day's. Sometimes when picking her up it reminds me of how heavy she is going to be when full size. She is so full of naughtiness, it's wonderful. I don't think we could ever imagine not having Maine Coons now. We are hooked. In our opinion Maine Coons & Tonkinese are the way to go.

Kylie has now perfected the same game of fetch that Tia play's. However Kylie prefers the Glitter pom pom balls to the foam ones Tia likes.

She like to help with the washing, Bless her;o))))

Kylie is now just over a year and we are waiting for her to call so we can introduce her to a nice young man, well older, mature Maine Coon boy. We have a lovely boy in mind so it's just the waiting game with her now. We are not sure what colour kittens Kylie will have but watch this site for updates on how she is getting on.

Kylie has now had her first litter and she is a wonderful Mum. On the 23rd May 2005 she gave birth to four wonderful big healthy kittens. All of them apart from Patches have left for there new homes now and she did miss them when they went, but at least she has one of them still. We are so proud of her. She has started our Maine Coon breeding dreams and she has done it with such style.

Again a Big Thank You to her breeder, Phillipa Holmes of Noracoon Maine Coons.
