This is Flur, she is a Red Classic Tabby and White Maine Coon from our adorable Patches & Bellion. Flur was not supposed to stay and was going to be living with my good friend. Alas at first vaccinations it came to light that not only was she flat chested, which we knew, but also she had a noticeable heart murmur. It was decided that it was best for her to stay with us, and we are so please she has. Even though we know she would have had the most perfect home with Annie & her Family. However one of our kittens has moved in with them as they have Flur's Sister Sambuca who will be keeping the Chocolate Lab's Angel & Geezer in mischief. Flur would probably not have coped with these two adorable playful dog's.
Unfortunately her flat chest was caused by an accident, one of the two mothers accidently laid on her when she was just a few weeks old. This however has not impacted on her in any way so far, and Flur is one of the most outgoing kittens we have ever had. It is also extra special that she has stayed as Flur is from the first ever litter where we have also owned Dad. Rebellion has none his daughter since she was just 8 weeks old and they get on so well.
This is just some extract's from her diary when born:
| 24.03.08 - They are starting to open
his eyes now. The time goes so quickly ------------------ 31.03.08 - This girl is such a cuddle monster, she loves to snuggle up in my hand.----------
2 weeks and 2 day's now. Where does the time go? ---------------------- 06.04.08 - They love to suckle from Mum and Granny. But do pull each other so hard to get the teat they want. They are now starting to purr while suckling. ----------------- Flur @ 3 weeks old |
08.04.08 Every night I just love my
time where I sit with these guy's and stroke them. They all walk/wobble to
the edge of the pen to see me and it is ever so special. Flur is a special girl, and she loves her cuddles. She will happily climb up on my lap. However this girl is a bit of a thug too. She thinks nothing of pushing the others around ------------------
Flur @ 4 and a half weeks old 16.04.08 - Weights: 550grams Their teeth are starting to come through now. I'm sure it wont be long until the girls get fed up suckling them. -------------------- 18.04.08 - Flur is such a poppet and has the total look of an angel. However the face of an angel is hiding the face of a perfect little devil:o) This girl so knows how to get her own way and always will. When it comes to eating though she is the perfect lady, not a drop of food gets on those white paws. Flur is a girl that loves everyone, I know when she meets the other cat's in our household they wont help but love her. I'm sure Dad will be wrapped round her little paw |
Flur @ 5.5 weeks old ------------------ 01.05.08 - The kittens have now moved out of our bedroom and are exploring their new room. They love to climb up on the bed and have loads of toys to play with. They are also getting very good with the litter trays now and we have very few accidents. They where a bit shy to start with when they moved on Sunday. But after a couple of hours they all settled down to a good game of chase and pounce. All the kittens are out going, just some are more so than others. The biggest joy is the fact they all want to cuddle up with us or play with/around/on us. Flur just looks like an angel but oh no, she’s a bully. She does not care who she pounces on. |
|
Flur @ 8 weeks old. I think she is saying, "come little fishes, I will keep you warm in my mouth. Honest it wont hurt a bit!!" --------------------- 12.05.08 – The kittens are more confident with the stairs now and coming downstairs. They hate to be shut up in the bedroom, but know they get their moist food and it’s only for a short while so happily trot up the stairs. Then after they have finished they happily charge back out again. However even though the bedroom door is open they do tend to sleep in their room at night. They have also discovered the activity centre and love climbing up into the different beds. Then either falling asleep or pushing some unsuspecting sibling out of the bed. Bull in a china shop springs too mind for this girl. She has the sweetest look on her face and she could wrap anyone round her paw if she wanted. But our poor adults get the brunt of her. She thinks nothing of pouncing on there tails etc… Mind you she’s not come face to face with Dad yet. Maybe she will give him some respect:o))) ---------------------- 20.05.08 - Today they went for their first vaccinations. Bless them they where all so well behaved. . |
22.05.08 – Rebellion now get’s time with the kittens every day and he is so easy going with them. He lets them run up to him, pounce on his tail. Or just run between his legs. He does give them all a good sniff, but has also been found to give them the odd lick too. They are not confined in a bedroom at all now and have full run of the house at all times. Alas now the toy’s are never neatly put away in the toy box, as as soon as we put them in, they think it is a big game to take them out again ;o) ----------------- 23.05.08 – I think Flur knows now that she is stopping with us. Over the years I have noticed this with kittens that stop. They seem to migrate away from sleeping with their siblings and tend to bundle in with the tonks. She has just started to do this, this week. ---------------- Flur @ 10 weeks old. Relaxing on the table ------------------------- 27.05.08 - Flur is a flirt that's for sure, she strolls up to all of the others and head buts them. Even Leia doesn't mind giving her the odd clean. But she just loves to do it to Rebellion while he is stretched out, then he gives her such a good wash, while she purrs away at him. |
30.05.08 - for the last few days the kittens have been allowed limited access into the run with Rebellion if it is dry and warm enough for them. Some love to be out there and charge out the door. The others are more weary but still curiosity gets the better of them and they have to go out to see what the new adventure is about:o)) -------------------- 04.06.08 - I have noticed something about these kittens that seems a little strange. But is nothing to worry about. All of Patches Kittens like to sleep up on our bed where as Kylie's are never up with us at night. I'm sure this will change. But it has just struck me that it was happening like this. ---------------------- 08.06.08 - Most mornings the kittens spend some time out with Rebellion now as they are getting into the habit of trying to join us in the bath. It's great that they are getting used to water, however when you are trying to get ready for work it can be a pain ;o)) Sometimes we have to catch ourselves and remind ourselves that Flur is not 100% fit. Her flat chest and heart murmur just don't seem to bother her. She is out going, loves to play and can be quite the bully when she wants. Her favourite toy at the moment is a big fish she can climb in the middle of, and has been seen a many a time fallen asleep with it around her middle;o)She has taken to patting us when ever she wants attention and it can get quite hard if we happen to ignore her. This is usually about 4 in the morning:o( She is ever such a happy girl and purr's as soon as we show her attention. Flur will be the first baby to stay with us that we own both Mum and Dad. She wont ever be shown and of course wont be having any litters, but she will be spoilt rotten :o)) |
| 10.06.08 - The kittens went for there second
vaccinations today and it was ever so crowded in the consulting room, I've
never had so many helpers ;o)) Everyone wanted a cuddle. They where all well behaved again. But I think the heat has hit them again as they have slowed down on weight gain. This is just due to them not eating quite so much. For the life of my I am not sure what it is they aren't eating though ;o)) |

Flur is doing great. She is such a bold out going kitten. That has nothing but love and mischief to bring to our family. This week Flur went to have a health check. A couple of brilliant things came out of the appointment. First she got signed off along with her Dad to be a comfort cat. But also she had her heart murmur down graded. Warren and I are over the moon. This may be due to her rib's moving and allowing her heart more room. What ever has happened we are both so pleased. This will give her a better chance of a longer life. I'm sure that her Daddy, along with us will love ever moment of this.
Flur is relaxing on the sofa at 10 months old and is doing great. She has
now been neutered and her heart complaint has been down graded and causing
her no problems what so ever. Flur has a very full live and is such a loving
wonderful girl. She plays with the current kittens we have running around,
happily goes out with her dad and keeps him company during the day, which
she loves. She has an amazing relationship with her dad and the two of them
will sit happily in the run next to each other watching the birds on the
lawn, or bat a toy about between each other.
Flur also had
her first experience of snow when we took her out on a harness and lead. She
was so taken with it.
